Practical guidelines for the preparation of examinations.

The exam plays a vital role in the process of learning as it is a great way to assess what the students have learned. Through conducting exams, strength and weakness of a student can be quickly evaluated. For acquiring good marks, adequate preparation is essential. It is mandatory to learn the concepts, particularly for each subject, thoroughly before the test. There is nothing to be afraid of exams, but you should be careful and mindful.

For competitive exams like JEE, science subjects are more important. Therefore, maths, physics, biology and chemistry questions should be revised and practiced a lot. There are many study materials too, which you can refer to apart from the textbooks. These resources can help you practice questions and answers related to the concepts you have gone through. Here are some tips and tricks discussed in detail that allow you to score marks for the exams.

Key strategies for exam preparation

Depending on the habits and mindset of students, the ways for preparations may vary. These are some simple tips for those students who are unaware of how to plan before the examination.

Time management and plan for studies

Time management is one of the crucial parts of preparing for the exam. Everyone must have a plan for each subject that they are going to study for a particular day and time. Therefore, a proper timetable is required. For each subject, a specific time can be assigned according to your interest. This way helps you in utilising the time properly and to complete your studies on time.

Don’t skip lectures

Regular revision and every day attending lectures without missing a topic are also necessary. Never skip any classes. After all, self-study is also mandatory. It may come as a heavy burden if it is stopped for prolonged and thus feels stress, emptiness, etc. To avoid these kinds of problems, make sure that you study the subjects daily.

Study note preparation

The notes that you prepare on your own are more valuable than searching for study material. Everyone should carry a small notebook to write short notes during the academic session, and these are very helpful while preparing for the exam as you can revise the note if any doubts arise. Always remember that persistence is the habit of a successful person.

Organising study space

A healthy, clean, organised study space is much required for studying. Ensuring that the room is sufficiently bright and your chair restful enough are also points to consider. Concentration is essential in learning, so a proper space with no other obstructions can improve the focus on studies.

Revision of topics

Topics that you have covered must be revised at least ten times. Revision is the primary factor for memorising the concepts learnt. Preparation of short notes after completing each topic should be done so that in order to check all the subjects for revision, you can check those notes and remember the concepts. For instance, physics questions will be based entirely on formulas and laws. Each law can be written separately on paper, and also the formulas can be noted on a separate sheet of paper. So that revising part becomes easy for you.

Practising mock test

After completing each topic or a chapter of any subjects, a mock test can be done. Many study materials are available now in the market, and you can also use the internet. It helps in assessing yourself to know how well you are thorough with the concepts that you learn. Apart from all these tips, a self-confident and well-determined mind should be there for achieving success. Get a proper sleep at night and be refreshed before attending the exam with a  pleasant sense instead of being tense.
